1st International ACCESS DINGHY Regatta

 19 - 21 September 2003

Thonon-les-Bains (France)

1 -         Organizing authority

 The first international Access Dinghy regatta will take place in Thonon-les-Bains (France). The organizing authority is composed of the Société Nautique du Léman Français (SNLF), and « La Voile, Ensemble, Sailability, France».

The event will take place from 19 to 21 September 2003.

2 -       Rules

This regatta will be governed by:

·         The 2001 – 2004 Racing Rules of Sailing,

·         The prescriptions of the French national authority – FFV.

·         The Class Rules as specify into the present notice (10th article),

·         The present notice of race

3 -         Eligibility

·         The regatta is open to Access 2.3 single and wide classes, servo-assisted or not.

All competitors must produce a valid licence or purchase a temporary licence from the SNLF and present a medical certificate.

Foreign competitors have to respect article 6.

4 -         registration

Registration forms and entry fees should be sent before August 29, 2003 to:

 

                                

 

Entry fee is 45€ (€40 for La Voile Ensemble members). This includes dinner at the SNLF saturday evening and picnic bags friday, saturday and sunday lunchtimes.

Registrations received after August 29 will cost €10 more.

Registrations must be confirmed with the Société Nautique du Léman Français secretary, thursday September 18, 2003 from 10.00 to 19.00 and friday September 19 from 08.00 to 11.00. 

Assistants can join the saturday dinner for €15.

5 -         LIABILITY

The organizers will not be held liable for any loss, accident or injury. 

6 -         INSURANCE

Foreign competitors must be fully insured against all liabilities from the time they register to their leaving the  Société Nautique du Léman Français.

7 -         ADVERTISING

This regatta is designated Category C of the RRS 2001 - 2004.

8 -         SCORING

The Low Point scoring system of  Appendix A will apply.

Division 1 : experienced regatta sailors

Division 2 : Non-racing sailors

Handivoile scoring : for disabled competitors
(this score will count for the Ligue Rhône-Alpes Handivoile 2003-2004 championship)

A pool scoring system may be applied if there are fewer boats than competitors.

The first woman, first servo-assisted boat and youngest competitor will win prizes.

9 -         SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

The sailing instructions will be available to all competitors when confirming registration at the SNLF.

10 -     MEASUREMENTS

Boats must comply to their class rules.

Exceptions can be made if a boatfs sail number does not correspond to its hull number if this number has not been previously attributed.

If two boats in different classes have the same number the jury can ask one of the competitors to change his number by adding or removing a digit.

11 -     COURSES

Courses will be triangles or windward-leeward. Six races are planned.

12 -     RACE COMMITEE

Officials of the French national authority will be designated as presidents of the Race Commitee and the Jury.

13 -   SCHEDULE

Thursday 18 September     10.00 – 19.00 arrival and registration confirmation.

Friday 19 September         08.00- 11.00 arrival and registration confirmation

                                          13.30       : One or several races.

                                          20.00       : Opening ceremony – welcome cocktail

Saturday 20 September     10.00       : One or several races.

                                          20.00       : Competitorfs dinner at the SNLF club house.

Sunday 21 September       10.00       : One or several races.

                                                            No race start later then 14.00

                                          16.00       : Results and prize-giving. 

This schedule can be changed. 

14 -     ACCOMODATION

Haute-Savoie is a popular tourist region, so competitors are advised to book accommodation as early as possible.
